Formula Drift Round 1: Streets of Long Beach

Finally, after a long ass winter of scarce drifting events and few car shows here and there, spring arrives with beautiful weather and Formula D. Unfortunately, I did not get the chance to shoot qualifying on Friday but got news that Vaughn Gittin was knocked out early, so I knew the main event was gonna get silly. Getting to the track at 8:30, skipping out on paying for parking, I headed right to the media meeting to meet up with the boyfriend and other old friends to get our vests and hit up the track.

After the total shock of being at the start line for the first time, we made our way up to see the vendor village, trailers, and all the fans checkin everything out. I came across these totally fab ladies with the most adorable hats ever! I want one! :)

Tanner Foust just a little Bunny and bow overwhelmed.
 Om nomnom :D
OMG. This girl is totally FABULOUS! For one, she bakes rotary cupcakes/cakes!! She even remembered my birthday! :) Thank you soo much Yessi Ibarra! They were so delicious and almost too adorable to eat! Everyone needs to buy from here! Hit here up on Facebook too! You are Bunny approved, girl!
My most FAVORITE XDC driver ever, Kelvin! He found me! :D yayy! He earned himself a Bunny prize with some yummy goodies to nibble and munch on during the event. Congratulations, Kelvin! Even though you know who I am ;)

Even Bill loves the Drift Bunny! :D
Here are few shots of practice I took.

Few car show pics, had to hurry up and get a good spot on the track. So much to shoot, so little time!

Ria Vee is seriously beyond fab! Check out her out at events and on her page! http://www.modelmayhem.com/MzRiaVee This girl has big things in the works, can't wait to see, <3 you giirl! Bunny approved ;)

Hereeeeeeee we gooo! Top 16!!

Formula Drift is an amazing show and so much fun to watch. As with anything that has to be judged, there are going to be blurred lines and unclear reasoning, however, it is still one of the most exciting spectacles in motorsports. Justin Pawlak took first, Matt Powers took second, and Dai Yoshihara nabbed third. What an interesting way to begin the season, and hopefully Round 2 brings just as much excitement and craziness as Long Beach, here's to an amazing season! xoxo

So there you have it! The first pink adventure of the season! I had so much fun covering this event, meeting old and new friends, and giving photography my first real try. During the season you'll be able to see my progress in the pictures as well as the blog, planning on big things!
