Final Fight Round 7

Hello fellow Bunny followers! I have missed you and missed writing! Work has consumed my all my time, but I hope you have all been following me on Instagram (@thedriftbunny) and keeping in up with the adventures. Last weekend was Formula Drift Irwindale, Final Fight, to say the least, it was an all out fight! All season long, we've seen some triumphs to drama to a new champion emerge from literally nowhere. With the top 7 drivers within reach of the championship, it was anyone's game on Saturday and of course, nobody could have predicted anything. With Chris Foresburg repeating history of last year by slamming into the same wall, Vaughn Gitten getting knocked out by Pat Mordaunt, and Justin Pawlak meeting Daigo once again, I couldn't help but just nibble up all this Drifting drama and excitement. The Ninja, Daigo Saito had to leave one last small mark before battling JTP and defeating Rhys Millen as he slammed his Genesis Coupe into the last turn ending Rhys' season.

I was lucky enough to FINALLY get a ride along, after failed attempts (eh hem) and what not over the past few years during Thursday practice. Zoltan Hadju was kind enough to let me hop in his car last minute and gladly freaked me out with that first bank. HOLY CRAP. I've been on plenty of ride alongs before, but never one as exciting as this one! I understand why photographers use Go-Pros, ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO SHOOT SHIT FORM THE CAR. After I caught my breath, it was time to go and interview Zoltan; such a great guy! I will be covering his progress next year during his sophomore season at Formula D. If I'm not mistaken, Him and Daigo run the same motor set up; twin turbo V8? Pretty dope and can't wait to see him grow into his s14! For my Instagram followers, you all know that after that dreadful weather kicked in I left the track for home but somehow ended up with my best friend eating pie in Los Angeles. So good! I live about 45 minutes from the track and wasn't feeling like driving ALL THE WAY back to Ventura County then ALL THE WAY back to Irwindale, so I decided to stay with someone the night :) Friday was a little bit of a bust, only went to the track to get paddock coverage and then drive home to do some work to stop a trustee sale UUGGGGHHHH. I ended up staying with my favorite relatives later and was an honorary cheerleader in my cousin Vanessa's cheer squad for high school. Clearly, I have no shame. Saturday was pure madness even early in the morning, people were already lining up outside and later I found out that tickets were sold out before the gates opened at two! With my fellow EDrift photographer Chris by my side, we got to shooting around then splitting up. It's always so nice to see everyone at these events and catching up with plenty of laughter and goofing off

Picking up from the first paragraph and jumping back into it, Daigo Saito ended up winning the championship, not without first knocking out Justin Pawlak... After all that drama from Palm Beach, it was refreshing to see that Justin had no hard feelings toward the Ninja and man-hugged-it out. Besides, there's much worse that goes on that doesn't get caught and splashed all over the internet, back off JTP... I've never seen a rookie win the whole damn thing since I've been following the league, and good for him. With wins in D1 Japan and Formula Drift Asia, he can add FD USA under his belt. Gitten finished second overall and Rhys Millen third overall.

I have coverage from FD Vegas, but my lens was so crappy, and I FINALLY got a 70-200 for Irwindale, I'm too embarrassed to put it up haha! But I will link it anyways.

I am looking forward to next season, officially 10 years of Formula D and all the excitement that goes with it. Thank you all for reading and following my adventures, look out for next season as I plan to cover ALL 7 ROUNDS with new camera equipment and of course, the pink bow.

Love always,
the Drift Bunny xo

Its a crime not to rock this!

What's more fabulous than animal rights and makeup? How about looking absolutely stunning and whimsical with cruelty free products? Lime Crime makeup is just that, vegan based and certainly NOT tested on animals, and did I mention just FABULOUS? From lips to nails, Lime Crime makeup delivers with stunning vibrant colors that only the bold can rock perfectly. My Bunny faves have to be the Countessa Fluorescent opaque lipstick to wear while I'm out on the track and the Cherry On Top glitter lip gloss for my everyday Realtor look. I'd LOVE to try the Magic Dust eyeshadow, but with so many to-die-for colors, I'm not quite sure which one to try on first! Featured on multiple beauty magazines and adored by celebrities all over, Lime Crime is your newest go-to for everyday glam and beyond. Why blend in when you can fabulously pop out with animal friendly products? I'd say this is definitely beauty with a cause. Can't wait to order more for Formula D Vegas to upgrade the Bunny costume. Next week is the launch of some killer eyeliner to add to the makeup arsenal, so I better see some dazzling eyes reading my review of LC's newest product! Gladly replacing my MAC cosmetics, Lime Crime is Bunny Approved!

Weekend SLO-cation

The rest of the weekend was so much fun! After leaving the ghetto Solvang subway, I fought with a bit more traffic then finally hit the 101 for another hour and a half to Pismo Beach. San Luis Obispo is about 15 minutes away, but I really wanted to try and play around with my camera and explore a bit before meeting my best friend for shopping. What do ya know! It's gloomy and cold in Pismo! The times I have been there have always been sunny and total beach town USA status, but being the "arteeest" that I am, I knew I could crank out a few interesting shots. Walking down to the beach and seeing the waves and crowds completely dead, I snapped a few abstract shots of the pier, old fence, and one killer one of a surfer braving the freezing water. Unfortunately, my card reader is in my car, which happens to be in the shop today, so I'll have my pictures up tomorrow. After wrapping up my impromptu photo shoot, I zoomed on over to Brandi's place where we headed to Downtown SLO to find her an amazing birthday dress for bar hopping. The most FABULOUS store ever exists there and I highly recommend stopping there when you are in Central Cali. The place is called HepKat, and they carry edgy pinup era clothing, shoes and accessories, they even have a sassy beauty salon in store as well! In the very front off to the right is a wall of pure guilty pleasure; 4 INCH HEELS. Not just any heels, Bordellos! One of my favorite brand EVER! Cause lets just be real here, anything with crystals and pink makes me melt! $170 later, I am the new momma of a pair of pink Bordellos, and couldn't be more thrilled! After the shoes, we picked out some fabulous dresses. Maybe its the blonde hair, but I normally would never pick a cream colored dress, however, the one I bought just worked for me. Cream and baby pink; so whimsical! The rest of the night was filled with Vodka showers and bar hopping. For some reason, and maybe because I'm not a college student, I didn't really dig the Iparty scene in Downtown SLO. Clubs and bars elsewhere in LA and Long Beach seemed more lively, more... Drunk! haha.

All in all, I love it up in the Central coast and looking forward to the next trip up there! I'll be sure to make it a review trip with all the cute shops and bars.

SLO-cation so far

I am on my way up to San Luis Obispo to celebrate my good friend's 21st birthday! So far the drive has been fun so far. It's a bit cloudy in Ventura but beautiful up in Santa Yenez. I'm currently I'm the adorable Dutch town of Solvang taking a break to eat, since I like to forget about that lol. I'm making it a point to still eat healthy since tonight I will be getting my drank on.

I know it's silly to say, but the Subway I go to by my old office is the best. Everyone in there is my pal and always make me laugh. The one I'm at in Solvang straight up depresses me; the girls here are cholas with an attitude. I feel like I should hurry the hell up and get back on the road already. So much for my healthy efforts!! :) when I get into Pismo beach, I'll be bringing out my race camera to shoot at the pier for a bit. Check out my Tumblr account, " the mini pink adventures of the drift bunny" for my instant instagram pics from my road trip so far!
