Road to Texas

For those of you who don't already know, FD Round 6 has a new home; Texas Motor Speedway replacing Las Vegas. There are a number of mixed reactions about the switch, but it makes sense in more than one way why this move will be better. My personal opinion; people come out to Vegas to party and be on the strip, not just for motorsports. I feel like the crowd will be much better and excited in Texas, not to mention the drift scene from that are will be in full force, so it will be nice to meet some new faces.

I am planning on covering this event with my other Edrift photographer, Josh Engel, he is from Ohio so it will be nice to meet another photo brother from the site.
Driving sounds like fun and it is a possibility, but for few reasons flying seems to be the ticket. If there are any media people in the socal area that are down to drive and split gas, you might want to message me within the next week *cough cough*

As of right now, Chris Forsberg is in the top spot with 388 points after defeating Michael Essa in Round 5 Seattle the other weekend, who is in breathing down Chris' neck with a close 386 points. Daigo Saito the beloved ninja rounds out the top 3 spots in third with just one point behind at 385 points. It is really anyone's game down to McNamara who holds 7th place in overall standings. Texas is such a wild card, not only is it a new track but an entirely different layout that everyone is going to have to get comfortable with rather quickly, so this is going to be full of action from qualifying all the way down to the final 2. Irwindale is going to be one of the craziest nail bitters with everyone clawing for the championship, can't stress enough how this is really any driver's win. Some of last year's rookies have been steadily improving, so I would love to see some of them podium next season or make it past great 8 which seems highly likely and exciting.

I am looking forward for my second trip to Texas this summer, this time to do work on the new track and bring you all some amazing coverage. Hopefully I will get to meet some of you, and remember to look for the big bow and say hi! You just might end up here or on edrift xo
